Lead track “Nka Bom” has a fairly DJ-friendly six minute structure (bar the ending) and a funking groove that’s absurdly infectious. “Blinking Eyes” has a cheery transcontinental groove that makes you feel like nothing can possibly be wrong in life, while “Daa Daa Edikanfo ”’s call and response structure makes you want to join in.

Apr 06,  · Edikanfo quickly rose to international notoriety following the release of “The Pace Setters” because of the infectious, forward-looking highlife meets afro-funk synthesis the band committed to tape.

Whatever the case, this record is really slamming, and frustratingly the Edikanfo The Pace Setters record by the band to make it to the West. Recorded at an equally famous Studio One based in Accra, Ghana, and located in a defunct nightclub called "The Napoleon Club", where many of Ghana's top highlife and afro-pop bands cut records through the 70s and early 80s.
